fire tutorial

So i took a old photo & made it black & white. then I added an orange tone over the whole photograph. After that i added some flames & made the layer screen so the black background was gone. after that I added some black to the bottom of the photo so that it looked like the grass was burning a little. after that I

exploding tomato: tutorial

I created shards for the explosion out of the center pieces of the tomato & then altered some so they all looked different from each other. Then I created a drop shadow & blurred it so they looked like they are flying out of the tomato. then i used the smudge tool to indent the side of the tomato.

puppet warp: tutorial

I used the puppet warp tool to edit her feet & bottom half of legs. I moved them higher up.

Multiple Flash

We worked together by communicating what I wanted to see in the end result & how I wanted them to move. We talked about how we would get the end result & what needed to move and what had to stay still. I really like the dark blacks & the blurred hands. I love how we were successful with keeping Holly's face still.

drawing with light

The message that I tried to get was that you can be in the drakes of times & if you have a strong enough faith, you'll find the light. I had to take multiple exposures of this. I went to two different locations at two slightly different times of the night. I realized that the open sky was turning orange during the first shoot and i wanted it to be black so I went to another location a little earlier. I edited this photograph by darkening the black and then i edited some of the flare out of the photograph.

Portrait shoot

In this photo shoot I wanted to show Melissa's true personality & how she lights up a room.
I loved all the different angles I got at this shoot. I edited them all in lightroom using presets & deleting them on some parts. I really like how I cropped the last photo.

Connection to Place

I took all of these photographs at a beach in Half Moon Bay. I edited these with Lightroom & brightened the colors. I liked the blues being brighter and more poppy. This is the overall place.

This is the sound that I heard while I was at the beach, the waves continuously crashing against the beach & sand. I made this one very blue.

I loved these plants on the hill behind the beach & they were very pokey & sharp. I liked this point of view from on the hill. looking down at the beach but having it blurred out.

This is a strong smell that I could smell around these plants. it was around the path to the beach. I made this one brighter and the purples darker so you can see the veins in the flower more.

paper project

I cropped this one so that it was more off to the right of the frame and so there wasn't as many distractions in the background. for these I just folded two papers accordion style & clipped them together to stay in a circle type shape.

for this one I made it B&W and then made it so that just the right top corner wasn't as bright, that was where my main light was coming from. I also made it so that it has a grainy look to it, like film.

studio shoot

I used Macro lighting, so up close. I used the two strip lights for that.
I learned how to photograph water and how to more quickly adjust the focus manually.

light final

If i let myself sink into depression. I won’t be able to get out. And then I’ll be awfully unhappy. I just have to turn my face to the light and walk on. And trust that things will be all right.

hands & feet

edits: boosted all the colors & cropped. these are my smallest cousins little feet. i love how cute 7 "fancy" he looked. his shoes were just so proper.
edits: B&W, darkened the blacks so the contrast was better. this is a necklace i got at my Omi's funeral from one of her friends. it says "shine" in the the note she explain why it said that. because my grandma always used to call me her sunshine & always said how much my smile shined bright. it also has the date of her passing on another charm.

edits: boosted the colors a little & cropped it.  this is a photograph of my friend & angie's hands. i love this photograph because it represents to me the joining together of two of my closest relationships. how wonderfully the fit together & we all can now bond as friends.
edits: darkened the photo & cropped. this is a photograph of a little boy who my Godmother babysits. he was very ticklish & i loved the little lines & how his little toes would scrunch up when he got tickled.

sense of place

i chose these two photographs because it shows the little things at college park that mean the most to the students. when we came to all-in-one day we saw the new landscaping & saw how beautiful & exciting it would be to eat lunch & hang out during lunch & brunch. the pool has been a main place for many students to play there favorite sports including: water polo diving team, & swim team. all the exciting "new" things at college park really show our school spirit and essence of our school.
